The date ordered by the Federal Court of Australia to opt out of the 1.6L and 2.0L class actions was 18 October 2017.  The opt out deadline has now ended.  Should you wish to obtain advice or further information in relation to these class actions, please click here. 1.6 and 2.0 Litre Diesel Vehicles

In November 2015, Maurice Blackburn filed Federal Court proceedings against Volkswagen, Audi and Skoda over the emissions scandal regarding defeat devices being placed in certain 1.6 and 2.0 litre diesel vehicles. If you have been affected by the emissions scandal, now is the time to consider obtaining legal representation from Maurice Blackburn in these class actions if you have not already done so.

3.0 Litre Diesel Vehicles

Maurice Blackburn is also investigating a further potential Australian consumer law action against Volkswagen Group, in relation to certain 3.0 litre diesel Volkswagen, Audi and Porsche models. This follows media reports that certain 3.0 litre engine vehicles may also contain a defeat device which enabled them to cheat on emissions tests.  You can register your interest in this potential claim by clicking here.

Am I eligible to participate in the 1.6 and 2.0 litre Diesel Vehicle class actions?

If you had an interest in a diesel vehicle listed here, as at 3 October 2015, you are automatically eligible to participate in the class action.  It is not necessary to obtain legal representation to be eligible to participate in the class action, although you may wish to have Maurice Blackburn be your lawyers in this matter, like the many thousands of affected motorists who already have.

If your vehicle model does not appear on this list or is a petrol vehicle, you are not eligible to participate in the class action.
