Volkswagen, Audi and Skoda Class Actions

In November 2015, Maurice Blackburn filed Federal Court proceedings against Volkswagen, Audi and Skoda over the diesel emissions issue regarding defeat devices allegedly being placed in certain 1.6 and 2.0 litre EA189 diesel vehicles.

UPDATE: We have reached an agreement for the in-principle settlement of the class actions against Volkswagen, Audi and Skoda.  The Volkswagen Group has, without admission of liability, agreed to pay between $87 million and $127.1 million plus legal costs and other payments. The settlement will now need to be approved by the Federal Court of Australia before payments can be made to affected motorists.

At this stage, there is nothing you need to do in order to claim a settlement payment. A ‘Settlement Notice’ will be distributed in due course that will provide information about what you need to do in order to claim a payment.

We invite you to register your details with us or check that they are complete and up to date, so that we can contact you with more information about the settlement as events unfold, including the Settlement Notice that will be disseminated in due course.

Am I eligible to participate in the 1.6 and 2.0 litre Diesel Vehicle class actions?

If you had an interest in an affected vehicle listed here, as at 3 October 2015, you are eligible to participate in the class action.

If your vehicle model does not appear on this list or is a petrol vehicle, you are not eligible to participate in the class action.
